What type of positions and work schedules do we offer?
The Hunterdon County YMCA has part-time positions available in a variety of areas. Our employees enjoy many benefits and opportunities for growth, as well as flexible scheduling. Additionally, we are open over 100 hours per week and have 20 locations around the county, and it's very likely that we have an employment schedule to fit your needs. ASSISTANT TEACHER
Location: YMCA Child Learning Center, Annandale, NJ
Hours: Part, time 3-5 days per week, 3-6pm
Skills Needed: Experience in a Child Learning Center and/or early childhood education studies

BEFORE/AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM ADULT AIDES & YOUTH AIDES
Hours: Monday-Friday, 3-6pm beginning September 2011
Location: Located at various elementary schools Hunterdon County-wide.
Duties: Care for children in grades K-6 in a structured program that includes homework time, snack time, arts/crafts and outside play.
Skills Needed: Adult Aides must be 18 years of age or older and youth aides will be 16 or older.

LIFEGUARDS
Location: Deer Path Branch
Positions Available: Immediately
Skills Needed: Lifeguarding certification including current CPR & first aid.
Hours Needed: Weekday shifts (9am-12pm, 9am-2pm, 2-6pm as well as late afternoon starting at 4pm)

SENIOR COACH
Location: Deer Path Branch & RVCC
Hours: 10-15 hours per week, evenings/weekends.
Duties: Prepare workouts, meet entries, team building activities and attend meets. Will work directly under our Head Swimming Coach with the senior groups.
Skills Needed: Our coaches need to be energetic and motivational with swim instruction experience. Competitive coaching experience preferred. Organization, communication and computer skills are required.

SWIM INSTRUCTORS
Location: Deer Path branch
Position Available: Ongoing
Hours: Mon-Sat, but especially Tues & Thurs starting at 4pm and Saturday mornings
Duties: Experienced instructors needed to teach swim lessons to children.

Location: YMCA Senior Center, Glen Gardner
Duties: Substitute in Senior Center programs on an "as needed" basis.
Hours: Full hours of Center are Mon, Tues, Thur 8:30am-3pm. Substituting could fall within any of these hours.
Skills Needed: Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work with seniors

COMPETITIVE AQUATICS DIRECTOR
Salary Range: $40,000 - $45,000
The Hunterdon County YMCA, a multi-site, 10,000-member Association with over 100 years of service to our community, is seeking an experienced, self-motivated professional to join our management team! Our Deer Path branch, a 27,000 sq ft full facility, needs a take-charge, creative program leader & team player to manage our competitive aquatics program. Our 2011-2012 Winter Swim team consists of 200 swimmers; 2011 Summer Swim team numbered 150.
Candidate must possess an outgoing personality and a positive attitude. Specific focus of this position will be to provide premier competitive aquatic programs in a friendly, responsive member environment and to ensure this culture permeates the staff team. Scope of this position’s responsibility covers programming at the Deer Path facility in addition to practice and meets at off-site locations.
Responsibilities include the following program areas: coordination of winter and summer swim teams; maintaining and developing competitive aquatic programs and clinics; oversight of all competitive swim levels within the teams; coaching an age level for the winter and summer teams; and managing and collaborating with the volunteer parent committee and other volunteers. Additionally, membership recruitment, development, & retention; staff recruitment, hiring, training & supervision; special events; and budget management are key areas of responsibility.
Requires a baccalaureate degree from an accredited 4-year college or university, preferably in a related field; a minimum of 4 years experience in the aquatic field; demonstrated competence in swim team administration and coaching with at least two years Head or Asst. Coach experience. Demonstrated competency sought in interpersonal, communication, & problem-solving skills; supervision & training abilities; budgeting and facility management capabilities; and expertise in creating & implementing aquatic programming. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and website maintenance required.
