New Jersey Youth and Government - Grades 9-12
Over 350 New Jersey High School students participate in this model Legislature program. Students write bills which are debated at the New Jersey State House at a three day Conference. Students at North Hunterdon, and Hunterdon Central High Schools can participate through their school's club. Other interested students can participate as part of a YMCA group. Program runs December through April.
For the 2010 Conference, funding is available from the county to assist students who may not otherwise be able to participate.
Teen Nights - Grades 6-8
A collaboration with and held at the Youth Center in Glen Gardner. Activities include sports, games, crafts, snacks, DDR, Wii Sports & Rock Band and special events. Teen Nights are held at least two Saturdays per month from 7pm-9:30pm.
$2 admission includes activities, snacks, drinks.
Teen Nights will be held on March 6 & 27, April 10 & 24.
Leaders Club - Grades 7-12
The Leaders Club is a group of junior high school and high school students who learn to work together while helping the YMCA and the community. Members plan recreational activities as well as special events and service projects. All are welcome, no fee for participation. Starting January 11, 2010, meetings will be held on every other Monday at 7pm at the Deer Path Branch.
YMCA Model United Nations - Grades 7-12
Over 1000 students from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and DC participate in the original Model UN program. Students at North Hunterdon, Hunterdon Central, South Hunterdon can participate through their school's club. Other interested students can participate as part of a YMCA based group. Program runs September through January.
